About the Site

This is more of an experiment than a full-blown kick-ass website extravaganza. We don't have the fireworks and we don't have the know-how, but we thought we'd attempt to throw one of these things together to see what would happen.

The idea for The Vibe was probably sparked by the stifling homogenous design of the Myspace profile. Sure, they're a little more fluent when it comes to code... but the design? Come on! How can it be your space if every single page is exactly the same? Sure, you can change the background picture. If you're especially clever, you may even manage to fiddle the contact details. Heck: maybe you've even got your own magical showtune that will play whenever someone visits your page. But it's not quite enough.

We thought it would be nice to introduce a personal space that we could use for journals, reviews, or whatever we're interested in at any given time. The great thing is that on a site away from Myspace we're suddenly free to experiment a little more with the form. It's more playful, and we think it'll give you a better impression of who we are and what we're all about.

Journals

The journals are the spine of the entire site. At the moment we have four writers from Cardiff keeping you up-to-date with the minutiae of their banal everyday existence. Of course, there are some trimmings added on for the heck of it - but these lives aren't completely devoid of excitement (I'll let you be the judge of that). Essentially, the journals allow each site member to rant and rave on their passions and pet peeves.

Feel free to click on the link and see what it's all about. Each journal comes complete with a profile of its writer, along with an illustrated list of interests, comments, blah, blah, blah.

If you happen to know any of us, and you fancy writing something for the website, feel free to let us know. We can even set you up with a journal of your own. Imagine that! (*Wow*)

Galleries

I suppose we're not quite so different from Myspace after all! But seriously, what good is a personal website without any photographs? Answer: not a lot. We thought we'd adhere to that most treasured of traditions and treat you to our favourite snaps.

The gallery offers a rich tapestry of unruly social gatherings and vain self-conscious posturing. There's nothing quite like posing elegantly in front of a mirror with a camera in your hand, is there?

Reviews

"It's so nice when it happens good." The review section of Vibe is like a greatest hits collection. All the favourite entries are there, along with a few original cuts to tempt the fan-that-has-everything. We were thinking of offering people such as yourself the chance to contribute little ditties of your own. Maybe you could even send in a few images for the young gallery upstairs. Anyway, feel free to get in touch.

I don't suppose there's much else to say. We hope you enjoy what we've done with the place!
